Why do we excel?
In our institution, we offer an integrated, bilingual, technological, humanistic, and student-centered curriculum. This curriculum helps you develop the foundation for further professional development. We emphasize that the experiences provided prepare the learner to successfully face the challenges of formal education at subsequent levels. For this reason, we integrate the STEAM model, where the student has fun while learning through projects that integrate science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Thus, developing an interdisciplinary approach.
John Dewey considered that the child learns by doing and for this reason we will take children from the theoretical to the practical and vice versa. It is a priority that children through activities have the opportunity to build their knowledge with the appropriate educational materials, as suggested by Jean Piaget. We consider the learner as a unique and rational being who uses experience and multiple intelligences (Gardner, 1983) to acquire knowledge and develop skills, as well as to apply this knowledge and skills to conflict resolution and daily life.
To achieve the implementation of these theories, pedagogical activities will be taught such as: educational games, excursions, collaborative work, laboratories, projects, demonstrations, open questions, exhibitions, among others. The role of educators will be one of agent of change and that of facilitating and guiding the student through the contents and activities that promote the development of multidimensional thinking, as suggested by Paulo Freire.
What is Little Harvard's purpose?
The purpose of our institution is to prepare the student to face the reality of the changing community and society in which we live. Changes that are caused by the economy, technology, among other factors. To facilitate their integration into a globalized world, we have integrated English as a second language. In addition, we prepare them to function in a world where there are laws, regulations and rules that must be observed to live together in an orderly and harmonious manner.
